Fresh Bart
It's good to see that Bart Ehrman's got a new book out: Misquoting Jesus: The Story Behind Who Changed the Bible and Why. I've enjoyed much of his earlier work, notably his book on the historical Jesus.
The new one examines textual discrepancies in the various biblical manuscripts and attempts to uncover how scribes, either through ignorance or intent, changed the original words while making copies. This lecture, given in 1997 at the Southeastern Commission for the Study of Religion, gives an overview of some of his thoughts.
Alas, the new book is doing so well (number 19 at amazon.com as I write this), it's already backordered... While waiting for the book to ship, you can listen to his appearance on Fresh Air.
